Back From Vacation

Just back from a week in St Johns camping on the beach at Cinnamon Bay. A beautiful place to visit and enjoy the beach, but 8 days in a small tent may have been a bit too long.
The snorkeling at Maho bay was spectacular, crystal clear water and many fish of every size and shape plus a close encounter with a 4ft long tarpon. In sections the small minnow were so numerous you could not see more than a few feet into the school. We saw two Green sea turtles at Lienster Bay feeding on the sea grass. They had extremely colorful markings on their neck and shell. One was close to 3ft in diameter the little guy about 12-18 inches.
We stayed at the Island View Guest Host in St Thomas at the beginning and end of the trip. This was a great place to stay, reasonably priced, amazing views and fantastic host (Ron & Beth) that made you feel right at home.

First Snow

Well it is inevitable this time of year, the first snow finally came to 7835 McGary Rd last night. Not a lot, just a quick blast for 30-40 minutes, just enough to cover the ground. It was a good motivator to get the snow tires on the car though.

I had hoped to get in a few more commutes to work on the bike but the snow, cold and darkness and have really reduced my motivation. With the changing of the clocks this past weekend it is pretty dark when I leave work, will need to leave @ 4:30 to avoid complete darkness on the way home. Did get in a nice 35 minute run @ work today, a bit chilly but always a nice mid day break from the chaos.
